Sunday, Espy for Senate released “Hurting Mississippi,” a new television advertisement with Mississippians explaining how Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith is hurting the state by working against Mississippi time and time again — and not being truthful about that record.
As Mississippians testify in the advertisement, Sen. Hyde-Smith has a record of hurting the state. Sen. Hyde-Smith voted 21 times against Mississippi, including voting against the Great American Outdoors Act signed by President Trump, to undermine protections for pre-existing conditions, and to cut billions from the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Even worse, Sen. Hyde-Smith has tried to mislead Mississippians about that record.
Unlike Sen. Hyde-Smith, Mike Espy has done what’s best for Mississippi throughout his career and he will continue to work with all Mississippians to build a state where everyone has good job opportunities and a fair shot to start a business or buy their first home. While Mike Espy supports moving Mississippi forward, Senator Hyde-Smith will continue to hold Mississippi back by joking about public hangings and refusing to support the changing of the state flag.
