Dan Mullen sidesteps questions on Auburn’s Cam Newton

Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen refused Wednesday to directly answer questions about Auburn quarterback Cam Newton following an ESPN report that said “recruiters” at his school were the source of a story that said the Newton family was seeking a pay-for-play plan.

When asked if anybody recruited at Mississippi State besides coaches, Mullen said, “No.”
