Patrick Peterson: LSU’s offense needs to get better
“We’ve got our offense’s back, no matter what,” Peterson said. “Our main goal is to take the ball away as a defense and score ourselves. We don’t want to put pressure on the offense, even if they’re a little bit down.”
Florida’s offensive problems have been a little less drastic but just as striking. UF’s scheme figured to lean more toward the pass this year with less-athletic John Brantley replacing Tim Tebow at quarterback. But the Gators have continued to rely on the option, and Brantley continues to look awkward and unequipped to run and/or pitch.
