Hurricanes vs. Buckeyes: Clash of QBs

Pryor and Harris entered college in 2008 as two of the most touted young quarterbacks in the country. National recruiting site Rivals.com rated Pryor as the nation’s top recruit; Harris was labeled the seventh-best pro-style quarterback. And although both have excelled at times, highlighted by Pryor’s 2010 Rose Bowl victory against Oregon, both have struggled in important spots.

Harris enjoyed a sensational September in 2009, leading the Hurricanes to stirring victories over Florida State, Georgia Tech and Oklahoma. Harris threw eight touchdown passes in those wins and launched himself into Heisman Trophy chatter. Then came some struggles — his completion rate dipped from 65 percent over his first six games to 56 percent in his next seven. The ‘Canes fell out of the ACC race and scored 13 points in a Champs Sports Bowl loss to Wisconsin.
