Austin suspended for Tar Heels opener vs. LSU
Embattled North Carolina football player Marvin Austin has been suspended from the team, the school announced.
“This decision is not a result of the ongoing NCAA review,” Tar Heels football coach Butch Davis said in a statement released by the school. “Marvin has violated team rules and has neglected his responsibilities to the team.”
Austin will not play Saturday in North Carolina’s opener against LSU in Atlanta.
