Mississippi State Football: Mullen has built excitement, but can Bulldogs compete in SEC
So, naturally, it does not seem that Mullen expects to take very long to be competing and playing for championships.
“We plan to win the West this year,” Mullen proclaimed from behind the lectern at Southeastern Conference Media Days in mid-July.
Football figures to be fun again around Starkville, a town deprived of a winning program for much of the current century. Mississippi State has one SEC title to its name (1941) in a year that nearby SEC rival Alabama claims a national championship.
