That means the divisions go like this:
West: Nebraska joins Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Northwestern. East: Penn State joins Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Indiana and Purdue.
The main objection is that the East has three traditional football powers (Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State) and the West has only one (Nebraska).
The response to the objection: What are Iowa and Wisconsin, chopped liver? They’ve been as good as anybody who doesn’t play home games in the Horseshoe for quite a while. And who knows what’s going to happen at teetering Michigan, or even Penn State when Joe Paterno retires?
