Mississippi State hoping Chris Relf is ‘it’ as quarterback
Against The School Up North, Relf went Superman. He threw for two touchdowns and ran for 131 yards and another touchdown. Mississippi State won, 41-27, to finish the season 5-7.
“When my time came I was ready to go out there and make a play,” Relf said.
Mississippi State might well have been 6-6, except Lee was stopped six inches shy of the goal on a fourth-down play in the final two minutes against LSU.
Following the game, Mullen received a text message.
“If I was your quarterback, I would have scored on that play.”
