Hot seat hotter for assistant coaches

Dave Rader and Mike Markuson, Ole Miss: It’ll be their first year to share offensive coordinator duties after Kent Austin left to become the head coach at Cornell. But Rader — the former Alabama OC under Mike Shula — and Markuson have their work cut out for them.
Gone are Ole Miss’ quarterback (Jevan Snead), leading rusher (Dexter McCluster), leading receiver (Shay Hodge) and three top offensive linemen (John Jerry, Daverin Geralds and Reid Neely). Playmakers in the passing game were noticeably lacking during the spring, and the offensive line was routinely roughed up by a Rebel defensive front that should be among the league’s best.
