Brooklyn Decker’s Cover Story
Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue star would just as soon talk hoops, football and tennis.
Brooklyn Decker, the latest Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition covergirl, was in Las Vegas Wednesday to promote the annual edition’s launch. The only problem: She had to miss the North Carolina-Duke men’s college-basketball rivalry game, a near sin for someone who loves sports like she does.
Raised in North Carolina, she’s a diehard Tar Heels fan and a dejected Carolina Panthers follower. She’s even married to an athlete: Andy Roddick, the U.S.’s top tennis player. When she’s not following her favorite teams, she appears in music videos, models in magazines including Glamour and Cosmopolitan and helps create workout DVDs.
Before heading to a Swimsuit edition launch party, Ms. Decker, 22, took time to talk about her sports fanaticism and whether a sports magazine should have a swimsuit edition.
