Going gets tougher for new-look ’Dogs
Dan Mullen’s first words to the media after his head coaching debut were, “Wow, that was fun.”
His Mississippi State squad had just dispatched Jackson State, 45-7, on Saturday in front of a raucous, packed house at Davis Wade Stadium. Mullen described the experience as “unbelievable.”
Now, for this somber reminder:
The Bulldogs open SEC play this weekend.
At Auburn.
Mullen doesn’t need reminding.
“At this point now, though, we’re 100 percent switched onto the next direction of how to make ourselves better, make some improvements, and get ready for next week’s game,” he said Sunday.
