And the top 10 college football coaching hires are …
10. Doug Marrone, Syracuse (former New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator)
This move shouldn’t take long to evaluate. The Orange need personnel upgrades at every position except tailback, so most of this winter’s Greg Robinson/Marrone recruiting class will play next season. It’s easy to see a strong-armed quarterback putting up Drew Brees-type numbers in the Carrier Dome against Big East foes. It’s easier to see that Marrone’s resume looks a lot like Robinson’s.
9. Stan Parrish, Ball State (former Ball State offensive coordinator)
He brings head coaching experience at three stops and a strong familiarity to the program. And he’s tight with Ball State quarterback Nate Davis, which brings the junior’s chance of jumping to the NFL from 100 percent down to 98. Continuity at BSU means the Cardinals should stay stride-for-stride with Western and Central Michigan in the MAC West.
8. Gary Andersen, Utah State (former Utah defensive coordinator)
