ACC: Does competitive season equate to success?
Back in July, in one of my first columns as the Star-News ACC Insider, I pondered the question of whether the conference’s expansion had succeeded in upgrading its product in football.
The answer then was the same as it is now — that the league’s most competitive and unpredictable regular season ever has come to an end.
It depends on how you define success.
If you’re one of those who has delusions of grandeur about seeing your team play for the national championship (any Clemson fans here?) or get upset when the talking heads on ESPN all but ignore the ACC in their conversations about the week’s most relevant games, then the addition of Virginia Tech, Boston College and Miami five years ago has been an abject failure.
