Ryan Perrilloux turns JSU offense into TD machine
Already, the Ryan Perrilloux transfer has paid off for Jacksonville State University’s Gamecocks.
JSU’s 7-3 record headed into Saturday’s regular-season finale at home against Tennessee State means coach Jack Crowe’s squad has snapped a three-year streak of 6-5 finishes.
What, besides attention from places like The New York Times and The Washington Post, has the 21-year-old from LaPlace, La., meant to JSU?
Plenty, says Crowe.
“It’s the first time I’ve ever been involved with a team whose passing yards are consistently higher than its running yards,” he said. “I don’t think that would have happened with anybody else. We’re not throwing it more than we’re running it, but we’re being more productive when we throw it.”
