Mack Brown could win four national championships at Texas and nobody will call him a genius. Incredibly successful coach? Sure. Charming guy? Absolutely. Great program-builder? No doubt.
But Brown won’t ever be called a genius. Genius isn’t his thing. He’s just a guy who recruits extremely well, is good to his players, wins a ton of games and manages his program like a smart CEO. He seems to understand that his job is to win. It doesn’t matter if he impresses you with his intellect while he does it.
