Easier to fire a coach than to find one
When Tommy Bowden took the Clemson job 10 years ago, he told me one of the attractions was that “you only have to beat one other school in the conference and the coach at that school isn’t going to be there forever.”
The other school was, of course, Florida State, and the coach that wasn’t going to be there forever just happened to be Tommy’s father, Bobby Bowden.
And as of Monday, the old man of the Bowden clan was the only one still coaching.
