Coast to college: QB drought in recruiting

South Mississippi hasn’t produced a Division I quarterback in five years.
The Coast’s Class of 2010 has a great chance of ending that drought in 18 months.

Three players are position to land scholarships. Dylan Favre (St. Stanislaus), Aerion Williams (Harrison Central) and Sam Noblin (Ocean Springs).
The Coast never had more than two quarterbacks sign D-I scholarships in the same year, and that could change next year.
“I like Favre a lot,” said Lanny Mixon, who covers Southern Miss for Rivals.com under the banner Biggoldnation.com. “He’s got the intangibles, knows the game, plays hard and the kid is a winner. I really like the quarterback at Harrison Central.”

Big 3 success rate
