What Are You Looking For ? – MSU Baseball
Certain things go without saying when you enter a coaching search at Mississippi State. It is simply understood that in order to represent the “Peoples University” the candidate must have a strong sense of character, honesty, and integrity. Without those qualities you simply need not apply. No doubt Greg Byrne understands what the position calls for and has a list of candidates worthy of calling themselves a Bulldog.
That being said, I feel there are three qualities the successor to Ron Polk must have.
He must be proven –
The head coaching vacancy at Mississippi State not only deserves a proven head coach, it is required. It is absolutely required. Not because qualified assistant coaches aren’t out there. Not because Mississippi State is above giving someone a shot at making a name for themselves. It is because the next head coach is following a legend in college baseball.
