BOBBY HARRISON: House snubs Hosemann on key election question

Last week state Rep. David Baria, D-Bay St. Louis, received chuckles, though some might have been bittersweet, when he made the motion to adjourn the House for the day in memory of the Elections Division of Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann’s office.

Baria was referencing the fact that the House Republican majority had disregarded the opinion of the state’s chief election officer, Hosemann, who by the way also is a Republican, and found that five affidavit ballots in Smith County in the contested House District 79 election should not be counted.
