The Clarion Ledger: Tate Reeves for lieutenant governor: Endorsement
Johnson gives a great speech, but he lacks substance. He wants to expand Medicaid, which at this point in time makes less fiscal sense than before with the benefits of more federal matching dollars almost gone. He wants to fully fund education, an issue that will all but be decided with the vote on Initiative 42. And he wants to have an open door and a more congenial office of the lieutenant governor, something we certainly support.
Past that, there is nothing that makes us believe Reeves is not far better suited as lieutenant governor over the next four years.
We endorse Tate Reeves for lieutenant governor.
