Judges confront Rankin supervisors after order not approved
Two Rankin County chancery court judges excused themselves from the bench on Monday to confront county supervisors during their board meeting after they failed to follow through with a court order appointing Hayden Roberts to the Chancery Court Family Master position.
The supervisors said they were concerned the appointment shows favoritism to Roberts, who is running for chancery judge this November….
…After hearing from the judges and the sheriff who expressed that the failure to appoint someone to the position would create a backlog of cases in his office, the supervisors voted 4-1 to approve Roberts’ appointment.
