Say that name around Mississippi political and media circles, and the response you’ll often get … I can’t print here, but it rhymes with grass-mole…

…Fritsch, as director of Mississippi Gun Rights, in only a short time has managed to get crossways with the most ardent supporters of gun rights in the Legislature — no easy feat. Sen. Angela Hill, who filed a bill at his behest the beginning of this year’s session, within only a couple of months was threatening to call the Capitol Police if he tried to contact her again.

I’ve heard some politicos opine that Fritsch is responsible for McDaniel snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in the U.S. Senate race last year. But I think that’s giving Fritsch too much credit. He had lots of help.
