RELEASE:
Gov. Bryant Sets Special Election Date for House District 45
JACKSON— Gov. Phil Bryant has issued a Writ of Election, setting May 5 as the special election date to fill the House seat left vacant in District 45 due to the resignation of Rep. Bennett Malone.
The qualifying deadline for candidates is April 6.
If no candidate receives a majority of the votes cast in the special election, then a runoff election will be held on May 26.
