Obama budget too pricey for state’s delegation

WASHINGTON — President Obama’s fiscal year 2013 budget, which he said came as “we are facing a make-or-break moment for the middle class,” drew sharp criticism from Mississippi lawmakers for its $3.8 trillion price tag. However, that price tag includes money for Coast shipbuilding.

“The American people have been saying: cut spending, get to work in Washington, and get out of the way of private sector job creators,” said Rep. Steven Palazzo, R-Biloxi.

“Today, the president responded — days late and leaving the taxpayer more than a few dollars short — with a $3.8 trillion budget including $350 billion-worth of failed stimulus policies, and almost $2 trillion in tax hikes, the largest tax-hike in history.”
