Turnout expected to be brisk at polls
State races, county posts and voter initiatives are expected to pull Madison County residents to the polls today.
“I think we will have a pretty brisk turnout because of some of the initiatives. Also the governor’s race obviously will bring out both sides,” said Mary McLaurin, chairman of the Madison County Republican Party.
Three statewide initiatives will be on the ballot asking for yes or no votes on the definition of personhood, voter ID and eminent domain.
“I think the initiatives will draw people out and will help our turnout,” Madison County Election Commissioner Kakey Chaney said.
