It’s 10 in the pen for voter fraud

A Canton man will serve 10 years in prison for voter fraud, as more counties look to curb illegal voting.

Terrance Watts, 40, pleaded guilty Monday in Madison County Circuit Court to illegally casting absentee ballots in two Canton municipal elections in 2009.

Watts was convicted of forgery, a disenfranchising crime, in 2005. Though his right to vote has not been restored by the Mississippi Legislature, as required, he voted in Canton’s primary and general elections.
