Two in Madison County seek state, district offices

Two Madison residents have joined the hunt for a state- or district-wide office.

Tim Johnson, president of the Madison County Board of Supervisors, is seeking the post of central district transportation commissioner, while Lynn Fitch, executive director of th Mississippi State Personnel Board, is running for state treasurer. Both are running as Republicans.

“I’m all about moving traffic by building roads and bridges and creating economic development,” Johnson said.

Now in his second term on the county board, Johnson said he wants to take his experience in overseeing more than $69 million in road construction to the 22 counties in the central district.
