HARRISON – Travis Childers may run for Lt. Gov.

Childers’ future

Northeast Mississippi voted for him by a wide margin in 2008 when he won the 1st District U.S. House seat. Northeast Mississippi did not in 2010.
Two out of three anybody?
It is important to remember that there is currently one statewide elected Democrat — Attorney General Jim Hood. He is from Chickasaw County in Northeast Mississippi.
It is hard to imagine the Democrats, if they want to continue to be a legitimate party in Mississippi, will not field a serious contender for the post of lieutenant governor, which will be a vacant office in 2011.
Childers may be their best bet.
