Representative Childers to unveil 5-point education platform
Childers, who is locked in a tight re-election battle with Republican Alan Nunnelee of Tupelo, will unveil a “five-point education platform” at 4 p.m. during a closed event with local teachers and students in the pavilion of the park at 8267 Goodman.
The announcement of Childers’ education agenda comes in the home county of the state’s largest public school district, but the Childers campaign didn’t identify that as the reason DeSoto County was chosen.
“(Childers) is trying to make sure he gets into all 24 1st District counties and talks to as many North Mississippians as possible,” campaign spokesman Patrick Gillece said Tuesday.
