Fox News political commentator Angela McGlowan was on Capitol Hill Thursday meeting with Members and National Republican Congressional Committee officials ahead of her expected entry next month into Mississippi’s 1st district contest.
According to sources, McGlowan is waiting to join the race against Democratic Rep. Travis Childers until after her current contract is up with Fox News. McGlowan is a former Capitol Hill staffer who worked for Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.).
McGlowan’s entry into the race will create a three-way GOP primary that also includes former Eupora Mayor Henry Ross and state Sen. Alan Nunnelee (R), whom Republican officials have clearly marked as their preferred candidate in the race. Since filing in late July, Nunnelee has achieved the second highest ranking in the committee’s Young Guns campaign and infrastructure program.
