According to Lin, the congressional group is composed of office heads or senior aides of influential U.S. congressional members, including Sarah Drake, an aide to Senator Roger Wicker, a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, and Sarah Robinson, deputy head of the office of House Republican Whip Eric Cantor.
Describing the group members as having a certain level of influence in U.S. foreign and defense policy formulation, Lin said their visit should be conducive to mutual understanding.
During their stay, the U.S. congressional aides will visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the opposition Democratic Progressive Party headquarters and various social groups.
