Disgraced ex-attorney Joey Langston of Booneville remains important to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Monday, Langston’s attorney, Anthony Farese of Ashland, confirmed that a government request was granted to postpone Langston’s prison report date a second time.
Prosecutors say Langston’s cooperation continues in current investigations.
Langston, 51, faces 36 months in federal prison.
On Jan. 7, 2008, he pleaded guilty to helping Scruggs and others bribe DeLaughter, but he wasn’t sentenced until Dec. 16.
First, he was set to report to prison Jan. 15. When prosecutors asked for more time with him, Mills delayed his report until March 16.
However, the U.S. Attorney’s Office apparently wants Langston home for another month.
