By: Magnolia Tribune - December 11, 2008

The Clarion-Ledger, 12/10/8

The cost of a college degree could be lower for a lucky Mississippi family.

The state’s prepaid college tuition program is giving away one free year of senior college tuition, State Treasurer Tate Reeves said today.

A drawing to determine the winner will be held on on Dec. 18. The winner will be notified on Dec. 31.

Participants must register at www.collegesavingsmississippi.com no later than midnight on Dec. 17.

Reeves is also reminding parents the enrollment deadline for the Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition Program is Dec. 31. The MPACT plan is used to cover tuition at Mississippi public and private colleges and out-of-state colleges based on Mississippi’s average tuition rates.
