State Officials Warn of Auto Warranty Scams
Attorney General Jim Hood and the State’s Public Service Commissioners are joining forces to warn Mississippians of certain scams involving auto warranties.
Both the Attorney General’s Office and the Public Service Commission have received a number of calls concerning auto warranty solicitors. The caller usually tells the consumer that their auto warranty is about to expire and they need to take immediate action to extend their warranty. However, the consumer may not actually have a warranty or it may not be about to expire. The consumer often finds after purchasing such a policy, that they are denied reimbursement or they can no longer reach the company to file for reimbursement.
