State Supreme Court Justice Oliver Diaz Jr. and his challenger said Monday the state high court suffers from a perception of not being fair to all citizens.
Diaz and Chancery Judge Bubba Pierce of Leakesville face off in the Nov. 4 general election for a seat on the nine-member Mississippi Supreme Court.
“We have to make sure the system is fair,” said Pierce, a former state lawmaker.
Pierce said there is a feeling among the public that the average citizen isn’t represented on the court.
