Hinds County Sheriff and Jackson Police Chief Malcolm McMillin is still recovering from heat exhaustion.
Reached Monday afternoon on his cell phone, McMillin, 63, said he would answer questions about his condition today.
McMillin’s wife, Delores, rushed him to a local hospital Saturday afternoon after he became overheated while doing yard work, Hinds County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Capt. Steven Pickett said.
He spent the weekend in the hospital. McMillin has remained in charge during his hospitalization, receiving frequent updates from JPD and the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department.
