Three state lawmakers representing Harrison County said Monday that tax reforms, education funding and rebuilding issues would be given the highest priority when they return to Jackson in January.
State Sens. Tommy Gollott and Billy Hewes III, along with state Rep. Michael Janus, briefed the Harrison County Council of Governments Monday night.
Gollott and Janus said they believe Republican Mike Chaney’s election as insurance commissioner to replace eight-term Democrat George Dale will help South Mississippi.
