Watchdog holds hearings to improve state’s Justice Court system

By: Magnolia Tribune - September 26, 2007

The Clarion-Ledger, 9/26/7

Roughly 40 percent of all complaints against Mississippi judges are made against Justice Court judges, and more than 70 percent of all sanctions against jurists involve Justice Court, the head of the state judicial watchdog group told a task force Tuesday.

For more than three hours, a task force created by the Legislature to make recommendations to improve the state Justice Court system conducted a hearing in Jackson to gain input from the public. About 80 people attended the Jackson hearing.
