Any Mississippi Democrats who are pro-choice, for strict separation of church and state, believe in at least some form of gun control and that being gay shouldn’t preclude a full-fledged marriage to a same-gender partner are without a horse in this fall’s gubernatorial race.
Jackson attorney John Eaves handily won his party’s nomination to face Republican Haley Barbour on Nov. 6, and on the hot-button issues that seem to dominate so many political discussions, Eaves is far more conservative than Barbour.
