Congress is helping Mississippi avoid a potential $15 million shortfall in the state’s children health insurance program.
In a statement, Gov. Haley Barbour said Friday he was told an extra $23 million will be sent to cover health care for more than 60,000 children enrolled in the program.
“Without the additional funds, Mississippi faced a serious shortfall for this program,” Barbour said.
