City official robbed at home

By: Magnolia Tribune - June 11, 2007

The Clarion-Ledger, 6/10/7

Jackson’s wave of crime has stretched to the doorstep of Councilwoman Margaret Barrett-Simon.

Barrett-Simon and her husband, Al Simon, were robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight Saturday as the couple tried to enter their house in the Belhaven area.

“We do have a crisis in this city, and my husband and I are just two other people affected by it,” said Barrett-Simon, who represents Ward 7.
