Two important statewide seats will head to a runoff on August 27 to decide who will be the Republican nominee for each. For Governor, Bill Waller and Tate Reeves will face off, and in the Lt. Governor’s race, Lynn Fitch and Andy Taggart will head to the polls once again to see where the votes will fall.
This was the last campaign finance filing for these races before the August 27 runoff.
Governor Race
Tate Reeves, showed a total COH of $3.4 million among the three campaign fundraising accounts. For the runoff period, he raised $305,006 from July 18 till August 17.
Bill Waller’s campaign pulled in around $549K during the last filing period. His final cash on hand was at $350K. He pulled in more than his opponent Reeves during this period since the primary earlier this month.
Attorney General
Lynn Fitch, current Mississippi Treasurer, reported a total cash on hand of just over $71K. Her campaign pulled in $170K before this deadline.
Andy Taggart who beat out Rep. Mark Baker for a chance in the runoff against Fitch reported pulling in a total of just over $140k during this period leaving his COH total at $130K.
