Huntington National Bank announced Wednesday an investment of more than $40 million to modernize its downtown Tupelo Regional Headquarters and Tupelo Operations Center, the anchor investment of the new Huntington Bank Business Park.

Joseph Moss, Mississippi regional president for Huntington, said in a statement that the investment sends a clear message that Huntington is committed to Tupelo, to Mississippi and to the people who make the community strong.

“Our colleagues serve customers, support businesses and help communities grow every day,” Moss said. “We are investing in the places where that work happens and where our customers and clients connect with our teams. Tupelo has a proud history in financial services, and Huntington will build on that foundation with the scale, capabilities and local commitment to serve this region well into the future.”

The bank said the investment will modernize both the Tupelo Operations Center and downtown Tupelo Regional Headquarters with updated workspaces. Productivity and lifestyle enhancements at the Operations Center include a new fitness center, updated health center and on-site café, while renovations to the downtown location will feature a modernized branch, a community meeting space and expanded parking.

Governor Tate Reeves welcomed the news, noting that before entered public service he spent his career in finance so he understands the decision by Huntington.

“Tupelo has a long history in the financial services industry, and this investment positions the facility to serve Huntington well into the future while helping ensure the city remains an important center for financial services,” Reeves said.

Prashant Nateri, chief corporate operations officer for Huntington, said the bank is grateful to the State of Mississippi and the City of Tupelo for their partnership and leadership in advancing economic growth and helping move this investment forward.

“The Tupelo Operations Center supports customers, colleagues and business partners across our footprint, and the talented team based here is essential to that work,” Nateri said. “By investing in modern spaces, expanded amenities and an exceptional workplace experience, we are investing in our people and helping ensure Tupelo remains a place where top talent can grow and thrive. We are proud of the team in Tupelo and excited about the future we are building together.”

Huntington plans to designate its Tupelo Operations Center and the adjacent buildings as the Huntington Bank Business Park. As an anchor investor in the park, Huntington can help attract additional investment and support growth, development and job creation across the broader business corridor.

Work on the project is underway, with renovations expected to continue in phases through mid-2027.

Huntington is the principal banking subsidiary of Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. Huntington is a top 10 U.S. commercial bank serving consumers, businesses, corporations, municipalities and other organizations across the Midwest, South and Texas, with some businesses operating nationally. In February 2026, Huntington completed its partnership with Cadence Bank, a regional bank headquartered in Houston and Tupelo. The partnership expanded Huntington’s presence across Texas and the South, adding more than 390 branches and bringing Huntington’s total branch network to nearly 1,400 locations across 21 states.

The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance with site preparation and construction costs, along with support through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program. The city of Tupelo and Lee County also are assisting with the project.

“MDA works to make sure companies have every reason to put capital to work in Mississippi, and this project does just that by bringing substantial private investment into an existing corporate operation in Tupelo,” said Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director PJ Waldrop.
