Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson says the recognition by ConventionSouth is “huge.”

Natchez is experiencing a renaissance along the Mississippi River as of late. The business community is thriving, public investments improving the city are taking shape, and people across the region are taking notice.

One of the latest accolades for the Natchez area comes from the publishers and editors of ConventionSouth, the national multimedia resource for planning events. The group has awarded the Natchez Convention Center with the 2022 Readers’ Choice Award.

Meeting professionals nominated the site they believe provides exemplary service for group events. The nominated sites were revealed with an online ballot where meeting professionals and fans voted for the best of the best.

This year’s award resulted in over 8,000 voters and the highest social media interaction to date, the group reports.

General Manager of the Natchez Convention Center, Walter Tipton said he and his staff are excited about this award.

“Our staff works around the clock to make sure conventions and meetings that come to Natchez feel like coming home,” Tipton said. “The hospitality and service here are second to none, and this award is recognition for the effort we put into each event.”

The Natchez Convention Center boasts of their state-of-the-art technology and acclaimed catering contractor which round out the exemplary services needed to stage a world-class event in the oldest city on the Mississippi.

Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson says the recognition of the Convention Center is “huge.”

“The Readers’ Choice Award is huge for the Natchez Convention Center,” said Mayor Gibson. “This award tells the world that Natchez is a leader in the trade show and events world. We truly have the friendliest staff who make planning events here effortless.”

Gibson said Natchez is an exciting place to be, and this award is the explanation point for their tourism team’s as they convey how coming Natchez can take the stress out of event planning and replace it with excitement and hospitality.

This is the third time the Natchez Convention Center has received the Readers’ Choice Award.
