First Presidential debate set for tonight
President Donald Trump will meet former Vice President Joe Biden on the debate stage for the first time tonight in Cleveland, Ohio.
The debate begins at 8:00pm CST, and will be streamed across all major networks.
Fox News’ Chris Wallace will moderate the 90 minute debate. Due to COVID-19, attendance in the debate hall will be limited.

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves joined President Donald Trump today at the White House to announce testing availability for K-12 teachers.
The Trump Administration is providing maximum flexibility so that rapid point-of-care tests can be administered where they are needed the most.
“This is a game-changer … What this allocation is going to allow for us is, we will have testing available for our K-12 teachers every single day going forward,” Reeves said.

YP – Legislature set to return to the Capitol by the end of the week
Lawmakers are saying they will be back in Jackson by the end of the week, likely Thursday and Friday, for more work in the 2020 session. Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann and Speaker of the House Philip Gunn have both said it would likely be Thursday before members return.
Hosemann told SuperTalk radio on Monday that they plan to focus on monies that have not yet been allocated.
“We’re looking at things like, the Ag community which has suffered a good bit, our veterans’ homes have had a lot of Coronavirus, they need some help,” said Hosemann.

WDAM – Miss. House candidate arrested again, charged with witness tampering
A Mississippi House of Representatives candidate previously charged with cyberstalking is facing another felony charge in Forrest County after being arrested Monday.
David Morgan, 49, was booked into the Forrest County Jail and charged with felony tampering with a witness, according to the Forrest County Jail docket.
Morgan was previously arrested on Aug. 31 by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and charged with cyberstalking. Two days later, a judge set his bond at $30,000 and he bonded out.
Morgan is a candidate to fill the House District 87 seat during a special election on Nov. 3.

WJTV – Mississippi seeks to dismiss lawsuit on elections amid COVID
Top officials in Mississippi are asking a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit that seeks to remove some limitations from the state’s absentee voting process amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Secretary of State Michael Watson and Attorney General Lynn Fitch filed court papers Friday, responding to voting-rights groups that represent Mississippi residents with health conditions that could make in-person voting risky because of COVID-19.
Watson and Fitch did not deny that the pandemic is causing health risks. But the two Republicans repeatedly denied other assertions made by attorneys from the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.
