Mississippi Democrat leaders to Party Chairman Moak: You have failed us

By: Frank Corder - June 19, 2020

In a letter obtained by Y’all Politics, Mississippi Democrat leaders across the state voice their grievances with the “lack of leadership” shown by party chairman Bobby Moak in recent days.

The letter, signed by former Mississippi Democratic Party chairman Rickey Cole, 2nd Congressional District Chairman Willie Griffin, and past chairman of the 1st Congressional District James Hull, says Moak has failed the party members in “both transparency and trust” in what the three call a grossly mishandled election process of at-large members and mismanagement of the State Convention process.

The three demand a meeting of the newly-elected State Executive Committee to be convened no later than July 11th to address their concerns as they say the processes in question are “irreparably tainted.”
