Mississippi revenues climb over 6% of FY 2020 estimates in December

State revenues continue to climb.  That is good news for the state as the Mississippi Legislature kicks off this week.

The Legislative Budget Office reports revenue collection for the state is up $166 million, or over 6%, above Fiscal Year 2020 estimates as of December 2019.

December FY 2020 General Fund collections were $13,506,067 or 2.58% above December FY 2019 actual collections. Sales tax collections for the month of December were above the prior year by $5.7M. Individual income tax collections for the month of December were above the prior year by $10.6M. Corporate income tax collections for the month of December were below the prior year by $4.8M.
