Wicker Supports EPA’s Final Affordable Clean Energy Rule

By: Sarah Ulmer - June 20, 2019

Trump Administration Proposal Will Ensure Environmental Protection Without Undermining Economic Progress

Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today voiced his support for the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) final Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) Rule. The final rule, which was announced this morning, replaces the Obama Administration’s costly Clean Power Plan.

“By finalizing the ACE Rule, President Trump and Administrator Wheeler have made good on their promise to ensure environmental protection without undermining America’s economy,” Wicker said. “Empowering states and supporting American energy is a better alternative to the Obama Administration’s one-size-fits-all regulations and skyrocketing energy costs for businesses and families.”

The ACE Rule will give states additional flexibility and adequate time to develop emission plans in compliance with the Clean Air Act. The new rule provides states and private businesses the regulatory certainty needed to invest in new technologies while continuing to produce affordable and reliable energy.
