Perry Parker announced his run for Public Service Commissioner in the Southern District this morning on the Paul Gallo Show on SuperTalk Radio.
“With 30 years of financial experience,” said Parker. “My career has been all about creating jobs, creating wealth…that’s what this office is all about.”
Parker surmised that without utilities, economic development would not be able to take place.
Over the course of his career, Parker started off trading cattle with Goldman Sachs and then moved into working with international currency. He has worked in finance in Chicago, New York, and London–all while keeping his home base in Seminary, in Covington County.
The international businessman prides himself in being a political outsider. When he ran for office in 2017, his motto was “Politics is not just for politicians.”
Parker ran for Mississippi’s Third Congressional District seat in 2018 after Congressman Gregg Harper did not seek re-election. Congressman Michael Guest won the election.
Parker will face Pascagoula Mayor Dane Maxwell for the seat.
