Espy claims Hyde-Smith doesn’t support protections for preexisting conditions

By: Courtney Ingle - November 10, 2018

From the Mike Espy Campaign
If Cindy Hyde-Smith supports keeping protections for people with preexisting conditions, why doesn’t she include it in her health care policy on her website?
Hyde-Smith, who has denied supporting ending protections for Mississippians with preexisting conditions, fails to address the question in the one place that she should – her official website. Instead, she talks about repealing the Affordable Care Act.
REMINDER: Every Bill Introduced To Repeal The Affordable Care Act Has Ended Protections For Americans With Preexisting Conditions.
“Why should we believe Hyde-Smith, when instead of using her own website to prove she supports preexisting conditions protections, she used it to call for the end of the program that stopped insurance companies from discriminating against people with preexisting conditions?” said Campaign Communications Director Danny Blanton.
Hyde-Smith also voted against an amendment designed to prevent insurance companies from selling “junk plans.”
